Adrian Radu is an accomplished engineering leader with nearly 20 years of experience in automotive and satellite communications, specializing in embedded systems, wireless technologies, and AI-driven solutions. He has collaborated with the European and Romanian Space Agencies to deliver innovative satellite communication systems and led global teams in developing advanced vehicle access technologies. As co-founder of the One Health Incubator, Adrian is dedicated to fostering biotech innovation and entrepreneurship in Romania. Timmy is a creative technologist, startup founder, and ecosystem builder with a decade of experience at the forefront of immersive innovation, AI, and urban tech. He is the co-founder of MidBrain, an AI venture focused on emotionally intelligent agents, and founder of The Point Labs, a studio known as the “New Immersive Bauhaus,” working at the intersection of technology, culture, and design.

During his 10+ years at Volvo Cars, Timmy led global innovation strategy – bridging mobility, healthcare, and smart cities through open innovation and startup partnerships. He built and scaled programs across San Francisco, Tel Aviv, and Europe, working closely with founders, investing in early-stage startups, and integrating cutting-edge solutions into industry workflows.

Ion Petrovai

Director of Innovation and Co-founder FreshBlood HealthTech

Ion is director of innovation and co-founder at FreshBlood HealthTech (part of Asociatia INIT), adjunct professor at the Department of Public Health of the Babes Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, ecosystem development director of the HIVE – Health Innovation Center, and has been Starship Biodesign Fellow of EITHealth since 2017.

Ion is a medical doctor, marketer, community leader and business shaping consultant.

Having graduated Human Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania, Ion has been active for 25+ years in the healthcare field, with growing responsibilities and impact in several multinational companies and then in entrepreneurial projects.

Since 2016, Ion has focused on improving healthcare through innovation, supporting startups and innovative healthtech projects as co-founder of FreshBlood HealthTech.  He is a business development consultant for tech-powered projects in healthcare, angel investor and startup advisor.

Andreea Iacoban

Senior Consultant

At Oxentia, Andreea manages and delivers strategic innovation and technology commercialisation projects for UK Universities, government sector clients and R&I funders, such as Wellcome and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). She has experience in the early-stage Biotech, CleanTech and Digital technology space gained through several licensing and market strategy projects, as well as through her work as a start-up mentor for Scottish Enterprise and Santander. Andreea managed the Research England-funded Shared Technology Transfer Office in Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing for the Midlands (STTOAEMM), a consortium of six partners, led by the University of Warwick. STTOAEMM aimed to support universities with smaller or less resourced technology transfer offices by sharing expertise, networks, and resources to build a stronger commercialisation pipeline. 

Andreea is keen to apply her expertise working in multidisciplinary teams together with technical experts, commercial teams and business mentors. She also manages the innovation function at Oxentia (new product development) which involves promoting and implementing new offerings and products to grow the business: prioritising, tracking and managing a small portfolio of internal projects, in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team. 

Andreea is qualified as an Agile project manager and holds a MSc in Pharmacology from the University of Oxford. Before joining Oxentia in 2021, Andreea was a Development Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, where she worked on developing a sequencing-based COVID-19 diagnostic kit.

Fabio Bianchi

Managing Consultant

Fabio joined Oxentia in 2019, bringing  experience in biomedical engineering and life science and commercial and business development experience in an Oxford University spin-out manufacturing medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics.

At Oxentia, Fabio leads work in Entrepreneurship programmes, designing and managing accelerators, internationalisation programmes, and capacity building for entrepreneurs around the world.

Selected project experience includes the Newton-funded Royal Academy of Engineering Leaders in Innovation Fellowships, the Santander X Entrepreneurship Educator’s programme, the Santander X Global Challenges, the Santander X Global Awards, and the JETRO X-HUB London programme. Within these projects, Fabio has managed and coordinated large teams and budgets, managing client and relationships between multiple stakeholders.  Fabio also has experience working in Academic settings, by supporting Open University projects ranging from astrophysics to Children’s literacy, and supporting the development of Oxford University’s accelerator offering. Furthermore, Fabio has supported technology scouting and licensing projects for corporate and academic clients, and is also a mentor and expert for EIT Health. Fabio is also an advisor for the Serbian Government through the World Bank’s SAIGE programme.

Fabio is fluent in English and Italian and has a working knowledge of French. He holds an MEng in Mechatronics (King’s College London), an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (Oxford) and a DPhil (PhD) in Engineering Science (Oxford).

Michael-Bogdan Mărgineanu

Co-founder

Michael-Bogdan Marginanu is a biomedical scientist with 13 years of experience in research institutions worldwide, including Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Ireland, Austria, the US, Switzerland, and Romania. A 2018 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings alumnus, he co-founded the Lindau Mentoring Hub and established Biomentorhub, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to mentoring young scientists and promoting bioentrepreneurship in Romania. His scientific work is complemented by a deep commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of researchers and entrepreneurs. Michael-Bogdan’s efforts in developing bio-entrepreneurship in Romania are aimed at creating opportunities for young scientists, bridging international knowledge with local potential, and building a vibrant, supportive community for life sciences advancement.
